Cornwall Holiday Park Reviews

AA Inspection Report 2010 – 5-Star grading received

'I received a lovely greeting from Charlotte in the reception of this beautiful garden like touring park, with its wealth of colourful flowers and shrubs and its extensive rural and sea views. This 5 Pennant park displays attention to detail in all areas and is superbly presented throughout, from the impressively square cut hedges to the weed free, rolled gravel hardstandings. Customer service is obviously very important and all the staff I spoke to were cheerful and helpful. The toilet facilities are all well designed and spotlessly clean and the grass areas a pleasure to look at and walk upon. New for this year is the camper's kitchen, which provides a free to use microwave and freezer in a lovely, light and spacious, wallboarded room, complete with dishwashing and food preparation sinks. This park offers much in the way of sports activities too, from archery to badminton, tennis to clay pigeon shooting. The Courtyard bar with its home cooked food or the Lodge Takeaway, provide plenty of choice on the eating front. I spoke with Graeme Colwill, the experienced and enthusiastic owner of this busy park and we discussed the addition of four WHBs that are to be added to four of the larger WCs in the ladies toilets, to create further cubicled units. I also suggested a small drop down baby seat be added to the otherwise excellent family rooms and a hand sanitizer spray at hte CDP without a sink. This was a very enjoyable visit to a top quality park and I am very pleased to confrim an AA 5 Pennant rating, with the well deserved, very high quality score of 90%.'

David Bellamy Conservation Award 2010

It's always great to be the bearer of good news, so I'm really pleased to be able to say 'heaty congratulations' on your gold award. 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity and you can be proud of the fact that you and your team and doing vital work for Britain's environment and wildlife. I am particularly plesaed to hear that your daughter has been successful in gaining her 'National Certificate in Park Management'. Very well done indeed. The park appears to be going from strength to strength. I look forward to hearing next year whether or not your web cam is successful. Your visitors will be enthralled if it is. As always, your assessor has made a number of suggestions for how you can build on your achievements - I really hope that these comments are useful and that they will help you proritise and focus your efforts for the coming year. Can I just highlight what David says about encouraging more of your visitors to take photographs of flora and fauna from around the park? This is a great way to get them involved and interested. For more inforamtion and ideas, please see the Advice to Park Owners and Managers booklet available from BH&HPA. As you move forward, please remember that ll the parks in the David Bellamy awards are part of a giant network of wildlife 'hot spots'. Your park is a vital piece of this great green jigsaw puzzle. So, please keep up your great work and make 2011 your greenest year yet!.

This is one of the tidiest and most professionally run campsites in South West England. What is more, it is family run. There is always on going upgrading at this very pleasant park.
