We are approximately 1½ miles from Bude town and its beaches. You are able to walk through the village of Poughill – it takes approximately 30 minutes. The parking is adequate in Bude and there is a bus services that runs frequently from the entrance of the park.How do I book a pitch, caravan or cottage with you?
You are able to either book online, over the telephone, or by completing a booking form either posting or faxing it to us. Please see the bookings page for more information.Is my deposit refundable?
Your deposit is non-refundable. We require £70 per week when booking our accommodation and £50 per week when booking a pitch, of which we require at the time of booking. If you are staying in our accommodation, have taken out the cancellation policy and your reason for cancellation complies with the situations covered, we will refund your deposit.Is there a cancellation policy for touring and camping?
We don’t have a cancellation policy for touring and camping pitches as we don’t ask for the balance of your holiday to be paid in advance. Due to this, we do not refund any deposits in the event of a cancellation. If I need to make changes to my booking, am I able to do so?
You are able to make changes to your booking. Changes will incur a small amendment fee. If you reduce the duration of your stay in the height of the season and the pitch or caravan is unable to be re-let, you might be eligible for paying the full balanceIf I leave early, am I eligible for a refund?
Unfortunately we don’t give refunds if you have to depart early. If you know you need to depart earlier than your current departure date before arriving, we strongly recommend you let us know. If your stay is shortened upon arrival or during your stay, you will be required to pay for the length of stay that you originally booked.If I cancel my booking or leave early due to the weather, am I able to get a refund?
Unfortunately we do not issue refunds. The weather is beyond our control and we will not issue any refund for cancellations due to the weather conditions. The only circumstance in which a refund might be issued is if we have to cancel your booking due to the conditions of the park not being suitable.Do you accept dogs at Wooda?
We welcome dogs on the touring and camping park. There is a small charge (see tariff) and we ask them to be kept on a lead at all times, cleaned up after and exercised in the designated areas. There is a restriction on certain breeds – please refer to the booking conditions for more information. Max 2 dogs per pitch. One dog is also welcome in the Cherry range only of our accommodation. They are charged at £10 per night and must be arranged prior to booking. We do have a restriction on certain breeds of dog, as mentioned above. Dogs must be kept off of soft furnishings and their bedding must be provided. Dogs must never be left unattended at any time.Do you accept groups?
Unfortunately we don’t accept groups of all males, all females or young people as we are a quiet family park. If you are a group (for example – sports groups etc) wishing to stay, please either call us on 01288 352069

When is the Courtyard Bar and Lodge Takeaway open?
Our Courtyard Bar is open from Whitsun Week (25th May) until end of September; however opening periods may be restricted out of the main season. Our Lodge Takeaway is open from 23rd March - 2nd November, but again the opening hours may be restricted during low season.When do your activities take place?
Clay Pigeon Shooting, archery and tractor and trailer rides take place in the main seasons. Low season, they are restricted according to demand.
Fishing, golf, tennis and badminton are available for use from April – October.How much are the activities?
Fishing - £2.00 for a half day and £3.00 for a full day permit, per rod.
Golf - £1.50 per person – no use of own clubs on the course.
Tennis and Badminton - £5 per hour for court hire and a £10 deposit for equipment. Please feel free to bring your own equipment.
Fitness Suite - £3 per hour
Clay Pigeon Shooting - £15 per person
Archery - £6 per person
Tractor and Trailer Rides – Free of charge.Can I pre-book the activities before I arrive?
You are able to phone but we do recommend that you wait until you arrive to book the activities. It is recommended that you do this at the start of your holiday to avoid disappointment.Can we use barbeques?
Yes, barbeques are permitted. All we ask is that they are raised from the ground so that they do not burn the grass. You are able to obtain bricks for disposable barbeques from the shop. Do you have recycling facilities on-site?
We have facilities on-site to recycle glass and cans, plastic and newspaper. We are a David Bellamy Gold Award site and have recently achieved the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award so recycling is greatly encouraged at all times. Please see the park plan to see where the recycling points are situated. Do you have a noise policy?
We require all our guests to be respectful to others and to be quiet between 10.30pm and 8am. Radios and TV’s must be kept on a low volume at all times. Any guests not adhering to this rule, may, at our discretion, be asked to leave the park. Generators are not permitted. Are guests allowed to visit?
We have no hesitation on guests visiting whilst you are staying with us. We ask for additional cars to be parked in the car park, and any guests staying overnight to be checked in at reception. All visitors must adhere to our park rules. Am I able to leave my children unaccompanied onsite?
Children must not be left unattended onsite at any time. Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children at all times. Anyone not adhering to these conditions may be asked to leave.Do you allow bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or micro scooters?
Skateboards, rollerblades and micro scooters are not permitted on the park. Bicycles are allowed but the park speed is 5mph and must be observed at all times. In the interest of your safety, we ask you not to ride bicycles around the busy areas of the reception and shop.Are we able to play ball games?
Ball games including Frisbee are not permitted in the vicinity of your accommodation. There is an area for ball games in the children’s play area.Do you provide equipment for fishing?
We don’t provide any equipment for fishing. If you would like to fish whilst you are on holiday, you will need to bring your own equipment.Do I need a license to fish?
You need a National Rod License which can be purchased at any post office. You will also need to obtain a permit from reception before using the lake. Are there any restrictions on the fishing lake?
We only allow you to use barbless hooks and do not permit the use of keep nets. We don’t allow excessive use of ground bait. What is the fishing lake stocked with?
The lake is stocked with Tench, Common Carp, Mirror Carp and Golden Orf.Can I have a tent pitch or caravan situated close to the lake?
Unfortunately the lake is situated in the valley so it is a slight walk down the farm lane from your accommodation. Access to the lake is via the woodland walk but we do have alternative access for those less able. Please see the park plan for more details on its location. Can I get internet access?
We have Wi-Fi at Wooda. You can get coverage all over the site however some areas have a stronger signal strength than others. It is £1 for 1 hour, £4 for 24 hours and £15 for a week (two codes for £20). One code works one device. Do you have a laundry on-site?
We have two launderettes on-site, each one with two washing machines, two tumble driers and two ironing boards. They are both coin operated. Each wash costs £3.50 and one 50p will allow 10 minutes in the driers. Irons take 20p coins. Washing powder tablets are able to be purchased from our on-site shop. Change for the launderette is able to be obtained from reception. Each launderette also has a freezer so you are able to re-freeze your own ice blocks.
I have booked a holiday in a caravan, what do I need to bring?
You will need to bring all your bed linen, duvet covers, pillow cases and sheets. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided. The Holly and Sycamore have a kingsize bed so you will need kingsize linen. You will also need to bring towels, tea towels etc. All utensils are provided.
Is there a freezing compartment in the fridge?
All fridges have a small freezing compartment apart from the Cedar, Sycamore and Holly caravans which have a full size upright fridge/freezer.
Are there any additional charges for gas and electricity?
The cost of all gas and electricity used is covered in the price of your holiday.
Where do I park my car?
You are able to park your car outside the holiday caravan. If a second vehicle is present, this may be required to be parked in the car park.
Are pets or smoking allowed in the caravans?
All our caravans are non-smoking and pet free except in our Cherry accommodation which is dog friendly. We accept one dog per holiday home; they are charged at £10 per night and must be arranged prior to arrival. Dogs must be kept off of all soft furnishings and their bedding must be provided. They must not be left unattended at any time. We have restrictions on certain breeds of dog so please refer to the booking conditions for more information.
What time am I able to arrive?
You are able to get into your accommodation from 3pm onwards. If you arrive earlier, you are more than welcome to use any facilities onsite until your accommodation is ready.
What is the latest time I am able to arrive?
If you are going to be arriving after 6pm, we appreciate it if you can let us know. If it is later than 8pm, please contact us and we are able to make arrangements as to where the key can be collected from.
What time must I vacate on the day of departure?
We ask the caravans to be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure. All keys must be handed back to reception. If you wish to depart early in the morning, please lock the caravan and post your keys through the letter box in reception. Please leave the caravan clean and tidy upon your departure.
Do you have to book accommodation for seven nights?
In peak periods, we require the caravans to be booked from Saturday to Saturday. In low season, you are able to book a short break, minimum of 2 nights. Please refer to the bookings page for more details.
Am I able to request a specific caravan?
You are able to choose to book a specific caravan and we will try our best to fulfil your request; however this is not guaranteed.
Am I able to hire high chairs and cots from you?
You are able to hire both high chairs and cots at a small charge. This should be specified at the time of booking. Please see the bookings page for more details.
I have booked a holiday in a cottage, what do I need to bring?
All linen and towels are provided in the holiday cottages. You will need to bring tea towels etc. All utensils are provided.
What time am I able to arrive?
The cottages are available for occupancy from 4pm onwards on the day of arrival. If you are going to arrive after 6pm, we appreciate it if you can let us know. Any later than 8pm and we can arrange for keys to be picked up from an alternative location as reception will be closed.
If I book a holiday in a cottage in the winter months, will the on-site facilities be available for use?
Unfortunately the park closes on the 3rd November therefore the facilities aren’t available for use throughout the winter.
Are the cottages centrally heated?
Both the cottages are centrally heated in low season. In the summer months, the central heating is turned off.
Am I able to hire high chairs and cots?
High chairs and cots are available for hire at a small charge, and should be requested at the time of booking.
Are short breaks available in the cottages?
During low season, short breaks are available for a minimum of a three night stay. In the high season, the cottages are required to be booked from Saturday to Saturday. Please see the booking page for more information.
Touring and Camping
When I make a booking with you, can I request a specific pitch?
You are able to request specific pitches and we will try our best to fulfil your request. However, we do reserve the right to change your pitch in exceptional circumstances. If you are coming with friends, we will do our best to place you together but it cannot be guaranteed.
Can I book on behalf of other people?
You are able to book for family and friends, but their full name and address including their postcode will be required at the time of booking.
What time can I arrive?
Your pitch is available from 12.00pm (noon) and must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of your departure. If you arrive before 12 noon, we will do our best to get you onto your pitch earlier, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Do I have to vacate my pitch by 10.30am?
In the height of the season, yes you will be required to vacate by 10.30am. In low season, depending on availability, there is an option of staying longer for a half day fee. Please contact reception for more information.
I am travelling through the night, is there anywhere I can go if I arrive early in the morning?
If you arrive during the night, we do have an overnight arrivals area with a limited number of electrical hook-up connections for caravans and motor homes.
Do I need to book a pitch in advance or can I just turn up?
You are able to stay at Wooda without making an advanced booking; however we cannot guarantee that we will have availability. As always, if you wish to guarantee a pitch, please book with us in advance. We strongly recommend advance booking if you are holidaying during the high season to avoid disappointment.
How big are your pitches?
Our premier pitches are 11m x 11m and our grass pitches are 10m x 10m. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate tents over 8m x 8m. If you have a particularly large caravan, motor home or tent, please let us know at the time of booking.
I have booked a premier pitch, what do I need to bring?
To make use of the premier pitch facilities, you will need a 16amp BS4343 round pin electrical lead and a length of waste water pipe measuring at least 3 metres. To connect to the water, you will need either a whale pump or aqua source connection which can be purchased from North Coast Caravans here at Wooda.
I have booked a premier pitch with a TV connection, what do I need to bring?
You will need to bring everything mentioned above along with a length of coax cable to make use of the Aerial connection. In 2013, these pitches are priced as a normal hardstanding pitch so please specify if you require one with an ariel point.
Is the television reception good at Wooda?
The TV reception is generally very good at Wooda.
Can we use a groundsheet?
You are able to use groundsheets, but we ask that a breathable groundsheet is used.
Can we pitch our tent on a hardstanding?
You are welcome to pitch a tent on hardstanding, but you will need to make sure that your sleeping arrangements are raised, for example airbeds, due to the hardstanding being fine gravel. Matting is available for purchase from larger camping shops to put onto hardstanding areas making your stay more comfortable. We also recommend metal tent pegs are used as these hold better in the gravel.
Am I able to stay on a grass pitch for more than two weeks?
Any stays over 14 nights cannot be accommodated on grass pitches. You will need to book a hardstanding pitch.
Do you offer seasonal pitches?
Yes we offer seasonal and mini seasonal pitches. Please see our touring and camping tariff page for more information.
My child is 16 years old, are they now classed as an adult?
Once a child is 16 years old, they are classed as an adult.
Are the showers free of charge?
The showers are free of charge. They are included in the pitch fees.
Do you have facilities for the disabled?
We have a disabled washroom which is accessed through the use of a radar key. If you don’t have a radar key, you are able to borrow one from reception for use whilst you are staying onsite.
Do you have sinks for dishwashing?
There are an adequate amount of sinks for dishwashing at our amenity blocks. These are also free of charge. We also have an undercover sinks for diswashing area and a campers kitchen with a microwave.
Do you have baby changing facilities on-site?
We have two baby changing rooms at Wooda that are situated in the toilet and shower blocks. These are free of charge and include a small bath, basin, baby changing mat and WC.
How do the family bathrooms work?
We have four family bathrooms on site. Each bathroom has a full size bath with a shower, washbasin and WC. These are only able to be accessed with a code which is available from reception at a cost of £1.50 per day. You are required to pay for the duration of your stay, as once you have the code you then have unlimited access at any time. Unfortunately we are unable to pre-book the family bathrooms, they are requested upon arrival. They operate on a first come first serve basis and we limit the number of people using them at any one time.
Do you have hairdryers and electric sockets in the toilet and shower blocks?
There are hairdryers in each shower block that are available for use. There are electrical sockets in all ladies blocks for hair straighteners etc, but they are limited due to health and safety reasons.
I am camping without electricity, am I able to charge my batteries or mobile phone?
You are able to charge any electrical appliances at reception during opening hours for a small charge.
Do you have freezing facilities on-site?
We have a freezer in each of the launderettes onsite. However we accept no responsibility for items lost or damaged, it is used entirely at your own risk. An ice pack service is also available from the shop.
How does your ice pack service work?
Ice packs are available for hire from the shop at a cost of 50p per freezing, per block. You will pay £1 per block when they are hired for the first time, which includes a deposit of 50p per block. This deposit is refunded when you bring the blocks back for the very last time.
Do you sell camping accessories on-site?
North Coast Caravans is situated on-site at Wooda. They sell an extensive range of camping and caravanning accessories, including tents, as well as carrying out repairs to touring caravans and motor homes. They can be found at www.northcoastcaravans.co.uk or contacted on 01288 359365.
