General Frequently Asked Questions at Wooda

We have 55 luxury holiday homes, nine luxury lodges, three holiday cottages for hire, and 220 touring and camping pitches.

Yes, they are available for let all year round. Please see the cottages and lodges page or contact us for more details.

You are able to either book online or over the telephone/email.

We do offer a cancellation policy for touring and camping pitches which must be taken out at the time of booking, this is charged at £10 per week or part week and full details can be found under the Touring and Camping section on our website. We don’t offer a cancellation policy for our cottages; we recommend you take out your own holiday insurance.

Unfortunately we don’t give refunds if you have to depart early. If you know you need to depart earlier than your current departure date before arriving, we strongly recommend you let us know. If your stay is shortened upon arrival or during your stay, you will be required to pay for the length of stay that you originally booked.

We welcome dogs at Wooda. There is a small charge (see tariff) and we ask them to be kept on a lead at all times, cleaned up after and exercised in the designated areas. There is a restriction on certain breeds – please refer to the booking conditions for more information. Max 3 dogs per touring or camping pitch. One dog is also welcome in the Breakwater and selected vans in the Beachcomber Coastal, Beachcomber, Palm and Heritage holiday home ranges. They are charged at £10 per night (if you are staying for a week or more, they are charged at £8 per night) and must be arranged prior to booking. We do have a restriction on certain breeds of dog, as mentioned above. Dogs must be kept off of soft furnishings and their bedding must be provided. Dogs must never be left unattended at any time.

Our Courtyard Bar & Restaurant and our Lodge Takeaway are open from Easter to the end of October 2024, but the opening hours may be restricted during low season. See latest opening times here>

There is not a cash machine at Wooda, Morrison’s or Bude would be the nearest.

Please see here for our seasonal opening times for activites > Archery and tractor and trailer rides take place in the main seasons. Low season, they are restricted according to demand. Pitch ‘n’ putt, tennis and badminton are available for use all year round. The badminton court might sometimes be out of use in low and mid season due to functions.

Yes, you can do this by phoning, book on the app or through your online account on our website, but we do recommend that you wait until you arrive to book the activities. It is recommended that you do this at the start of your holiday to avoid disappointment.

We have facilities on-site to recycle glass and cans, plastic and newspaper. We are a David Bellamy Gold Award site and have recently achieved the Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award so recycling is greatly encouraged at all times. Please see the park plan to see where the recycling points are situated.

We have no hesitation on guests visiting whilst you are staying with us. We ask for additional cars to be parked in the car park, and any guests staying overnight to be checked in at reception. All visitors must adhere to our park rules.

Skateboards, rollerblades and micro scooters are not permitted on the park. Bicycles are allowed, but the park speed limit is 5mph and must be observed at all times. In the interest of your safety, we ask you not to ride bicycles around the busy areas of the reception and shop. Children should be accompanied at ALL times.

Unfortunately the lake is situated in the valley so it is a slight walk down the farm lane from your accommodation. Access to the lake is via the woodland walk but we do have alternative access for those less able. Please see the park plan for more details on its location.

Yes you are able to have a supermarket delivery however we do please ask that you meet them in the carpark and provide them with a contact number.

You are able to walk into Bude from the Holiday Park, however this is on a fairly busy road passing through the village of Poughill and takes approx. 30-40 minutes. There are no direct off-road footpaths to Bude, longer coastal walks are available to enquire about in reception

In 2024, we open on the 2nd March and close on the 16th November for everything other than our Gwelva Hills Lodges and Holiday Cottages.

We are approximately 1½ miles from Bude town and its beaches. You are able to walk through the village of Poughill – it takes approximately 30 minutes. The parking is adequate in Bude and there is a bus services that runs frequently from the entrance of the park.

Your deposit is non-refundable. We require 25% of the total cost of your holiday when making a booking, or a minimum of £50 if 25% of the booking cost is less. If you are staying in our holiday homes or have booked and touring and camping pitch, have taken out the cancellation policy and your reason for cancellation complies with the situations covered, we will refund your deposit less the cancellation fee. We strongly recommend you also take out your own holiday insurance to cover reasons for cancellation not included within our cancellation policy.

You are able to make changes to your booking. Changes will incur a small amendment fee. If you reduce the duration of your stay in the height of the season and the pitch or caravan is unable to be re-let, you might be eligible for paying the full balance.

Unfortunately we do not issue refunds. The weather is beyond our control and we will not issue any refund for cancellations due to the weather conditions. The only circumstance in which a refund might be issued is if we have to cancel your booking due to the conditions of the park not being suitable.

Unfortunately we don’t accept groups of all males, all females or young people as we are a quiet family park. If you are a group (for example – sports groups etc) wishing to stay, please either call us on 01288 352069 or email your details to enquiries@wooda.co.uk

Dogs are not allowed inside the Bar and Grill, however there is an outside area with heaters and a canopy to keep you warm and cosy. An additional indoor seating area called The Root House which is dog friendly is in the Courtyard area.

Unfortunately we do not allow open fires e.g. firepits

Tennis and Badminton – £5 per hour for court hire and a £10 deposit for equipment. Please feel free to bring your own equipment.

Yes, barbeques are permitted. All we ask is that they are raised from the ground so that they do not burn the grass. You are able to obtain bricks for disposable barbeques from the shop.

We require all our guests to be respectful to others and to be quiet between 10.30pm and 8am. Radios and TV’s must be kept on a low volume at all times. Any guests not adhering to this rule, may, at our discretion, be asked to leave the park. Generators are not permitted.

Children must not be left unattended onsite at any time. Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children at all times. Anyone not adhering to these conditions may be asked to leave.

Ball games including Frisbee are not permitted in the vicinity of your accommodation. There is an area for ball games in the children’s play area.

You need a National Rod License which can be purchased at any post office. You will also need to obtain a permit from reception before using the lake.

We have free Wi-Fi at Wooda. You can get coverage all over the site however some areas have a stronger signal strength than others. We also have seperate fast hardwired Wi-Fi in all of our accommodation options which is great for streaming etc.

We have two launderettes on-site, each one with two washing machines, two tumble driers and two ironing boards. They are both coin operated. Each wash costs £6.50 and £2.50 will allow 30 minutes in the driers. Irons take 20p coins. Washing powder tablets are able to be purchased from our on-site shop. Change for the launderette is able to be obtained from reception. Each launderette also has a freezer so you are able to re-freeze your own ice blocks.

There are two morning services from Wooda to Bude and one back from Bude to Wooda. In the village of Poughill there are more regular services to and from Bude, a timetable is available in reception.

Holiday Caravans Frequently Asked Questions at Wooda

All bedding in our holiday homes is provided, however you will need to bring your own towels. All utensils are provided.

The cost of all gas and electricity used is covered in the price of your holiday.

All our caravans are non-smoking and pet free except in our Breakwater and selected holiday homes from the Beachcomber Coastal, Heritage, Palm and Beachcomber ranges which are dog friendly. We accept one dog per holiday home; they are charged at £10 per night (if you are staying for a week or more, your dog will be charged at £8 per night) and must be arranged prior to arrival. Dogs must be kept off of all soft furnishings and their bedding must be provided. They must not be left unattended at any time. We have restrictions on certain breeds of dog so please refer to the booking conditions for more information.

Smoking and vaping is NOT allowed in any of our accommodation.

If you are going to be arriving after 6pm, we appreciate it if you can let us know. You will be emailed a key code on the day of arrival so if you are arrivng after reception is closed, please make your way straight to your accommodation and retrieve the keys from the keybox, checking in with your online account.

In peak periods, we require the caravans to be booked from Saturday to Saturday. In low season, you are able to book a short break, minimum of 3 nights. Please refer to the breaks page for more details.

All fridges have a small freezing compartment. The Horizon, Atlantic, Beachcomber Coastal, Beachcomber, Heritage and Breakwater caravans have a full size upright fridge/freezer.

You are able to park your car outside the holiday caravan. If a second vehicle is present, this may be required to be parked in the car park.

You are able to get into your accommodation from 4pm onwards. If you arrive earlier, you are more than welcome to use any facilities onsite until your accommodation is ready.

We ask the caravans to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. All keys must be handed back to reception. If you wish to depart early in the morning, please lock the caravan and post your keys through the letter box in reception. Please leave the caravan clean and tidy upon your departure.

You are able to choose to book a specific caravan and we will try our best to fulfil your request; however this is not guaranteed.

You are able to hire both high chairs and cots at a small charge. This should be specified at the time of booking. Please see the holiday homes page for more details.

Holiday Cottages & Gwelva Hills

All linen and towels are provided in the holiday cottages, however, please bring your own beach towels! All utensils are provided.

Unfortunately the park closes on the 16th November therefore not all of the facilities are available for use throughout the winter. There will however be access to the farm animals, nature trail, badminton court, pitch n putt and gym. Please see more details on seasonal opening here.>

High chairs and cots are available free of charge in our holiday cottages. Please let us know at the time of booking if you require these.

Each cottage has its own independent Wi-Fi for your use at no additional charge.

All three of the cottages are centrally heated in low season. In the summer months, the central heating is turned off.

During low season, short breaks are available for a minimum of a three night stay. In the high season, the cottages are required to be booked from Saturday to Saturday. Please see the breaks page for more information.

Touring and Camping Frequently Asked Questions at Wooda

You are able to request specific pitches and we will try our best to fulfil your request. However, we do reserve the right to change your pitch in exceptional circumstances. If you are coming with friends, we will do our best to place you together but it cannot be guaranteed.

Your pitch is available from 12pm (noon) and must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of your departure. If you arrive before 12 noon, we will do our best to get you onto your pitch earlier, but this cannot be guaranteed.

In the height of the season, yes you will be required to vacate by 10.30am. In low season, depending on availability, there is an option of staying longer for a half day fee. Please contact reception for more information.

You are able to stay at Wooda without making an advanced booking; however we cannot guarantee that we will have availability. As always, if you wish to guarantee a pitch, please book with us in advance. We strongly recommend advance booking if you are holidaying during the high season to avoid disappointment.

To make use of the premier pitch facilities, you will need a 16amp BS4343 round pin electrical lead and a length of waste water pipe measuring at least 3 metres. To connect to the water, you will need either a whale pump or aqua source connection which can be purchased from North Coast Caravans here at Wooda.

The TV reception is generally very good at Wooda.

You are able to book for family and friends, but their full name and address including their postcode will be required at the time of booking.

If you are planning to arrive after 6pm, we ask that you let us know. If the reception is closed we will inform you of your pitch number and you are welcome to go straight onto your pitch. Unfortunately we don’t allow anyone to pitch up later than 9pm. There is an overnight arrivals area with electricity if you wish to use this before going onto your pitch in the morning.

If you arrive during the night, we do have an overnight arrivals area with a limited number of electrical hook-up connections for caravans and motor homes.

Our premier pitches are 11m x 11m and our grass pitches are 10m x 10m. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate tents over 8m x 8m. If you have a particularly large caravan, motor home or tent, please let us know at the time of booking.

You will need to bring everything mentioned above along with a length of coax cable to make use of the Aerial connection. These pitches are priced as a normal hardstanding pitch so please specify if you require one with an aerial point.

You are able to use groundsheets, but we ask that a breathable groundsheet is used.

You are welcome to pitch a tent on hardstanding, but you will need to make sure that your sleeping arrangements are raised, for example airbeds, due to the hardstanding being fine gravel. Matting is available for purchase from larger camping shops to put onto hardstanding areas making your stay more comfortable. We also recommend metal tent pegs are used as these hold better in the gravel.

Any stays over 14 nights cannot be accommodated on grass pitches. You will need to book a hardstanding pitch.

Unfortunately we no longer offer seasonal pitches, apologies.

Once a child is 16 years old, they are classed as an adult.

The showers are free of charge. They are included in the pitch fees.

We have a disabled washroom which is accessed through the use of a radar key. If you don’t have a radar key, you are able to borrow one from reception for use whilst you are staying onsite.

There are an adequate amount of sinks for dishwashing at our amenity blocks. These are also free of charge. We also have an undercover sinks for diswashing area and a campers kitchen with a microwave.

We have two baby changing rooms at Wooda that are situated in the toilet and shower blocks. These are free of charge and include a small bath, basin, baby changing mat and WC.

We have four family bathrooms on site. Each bathroom has a full size bath with a shower, washbasin and WC. These are only able to be accessed with a code which is on a pre-booked basis at a cost of £15.00 per day. You are required to pay for the duration of your stay, as once you have the code you then have unlimited access at any time throughout your stay. They operate on a first come first serve basis and they are solely for your own use throughout your stay.

There are hairdryers in each shower block that are available for use. There are electrical sockets in all ladies blocks for hair straighteners.

You are able to charge any electrical appliances at reception during opening hours.

We have a freezer in each of the launderettes onsite. However we accept no responsibility for items lost or damaged, it is used entirely at your own risk.

The North Coast Caravan shop sells all types of camping gas/gaz.
