The Joys of Spring in Bude and North Cornwall

, , ,

As the days start getting longer and the first signs of spring show in the hedgerows, North Cornwall once again bursts into life. It’s a wonderful time to visit Bude and the surrounding areas, even if we do say so ourselves! Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly holiday, an active escape or a resplendently relaxing retreat, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained during a Springtime stay in North Cornwall.

Spring Events in Bude and North Cornwall

Bude is abuzz with activity in spring. The beaches come alive with families again, the countryside rings with the sound of lambs and the surf becomes a little more appealing as the waters begin to warm. And the town itself, with its charming mix of independent shops, cosy cafes, and welcoming pubs, begins basking in the golden glow of the Cornish springtime sunshine returning to the North Cornish shores.

Spring is a time for renewal, some refreshment for our mental health and the perfect time to treat ourselves to some well-earned time off, and there are plenty of events taking place in and around Bude to keep any family entertained, no matter what they might be looking for.

Here are a few highlights to mark on your calendar:

  • Bude Festival of Food and Drink: This taste-bud-tingling festival celebrates the very best of Cornish produce and cuisine. An Easter Monday treat for the tastebuds.
  • Cornwall Spring Flower Show: Described by some as the ‘The Chelsea of the West’, the Cornwall Spring Flower Show is held in Wadebridge, around a 40 minute drive from Wooda, and is a celebration of all things horticultural.
  • Events at Cotehele: Cotehele Gardens: A slightly longer trip from Bude but one that is well worth the drive. Discover a hidden gem with colourful flower displays, a fascinating Tudor house and a heap of exciting Easter events.
