Bluebells In The Woods At Lanhydrock
Date: Throughout April
National Trust memberships at the ready, this is one of Cornwall’s best kept secrets. Throughout April Lanhydrock’s Great Wood becomes a beautiful a sea of blue. Enjoy the carpets of sweet-scented bluebells in the peaceful woodland or walk amongst a riot of spring colour in the formal gardens.
Easter Activities At Wooda

Join us for a fun-packed Easter! We have loads of egg-cellent activities that everyone will enjoy. Make flower kebabs, build a sand bunny, complete the Easter trail, go on an egg hunt, challenge your friends and family to a game of pitch n putt, splash in rock pools and roll down sand dunes, a stay at Wooda is an Easter well spent. Plus – pick up special Easter prizes and chocolate treats throughout your stay!
Padstow May Day
Date: Wednesday 1st May
May Day (or ‘Obby ‘Oss Day as it is known) is the biggest day in Padstow’s calendar.
Locals spend the night decorating the town’s streets with flags, flowers and greenery complete with a maypole and the following morning two “osses”, one red and one blue emerge from their stables. The “osses” proceed through Padstow’s streets taunted by a Teazer, who leads the dance with theatrical movements.
It’s such a fun day, if you’re staying at Wooda this is a great day out!
Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival
Date: Thursday 2nd - Monday 6th May
The biennial Festival showcases the very best of male voice singing from across the world.
From across the globe, male choirs of all ages from boys to senior citizens descend on Cornwall for the 2019 International Male Choral Festival, for what is now the largest event of its kind in the World. More than 50 concerts and celebrations in 40 venues across the county running from May 2nd– May 6th 2019 will take place.
Bude & Stratton Folk Festival
Date: Friday 24th May - Monday 27th May
This Folk Festival is a friendly mix of folk events held on the late May Bank Holiday weekend 24-27 May 2019. It features music, song, dance, and storytelling, and there is a small programme of children’s events. The programme is published in April.
Our friends at the Falcon Hotel have a special festival Beer-Fest that adds carefully curated speciality ales to the musical menu.

Royal Cornwall Show, Wadebridge
Date: Thursday 6th - Saturday 8th June
For three days each year the dedicated show-ground at Wadebridge is transformed into a living town, bustling with life, energy, agriculture, entertainment and trade. It is a significant event on the Cornish calendar with around 130,000 people attending.
This is one not to be missed!
St Merryn Steam and Vintage Rally, Padstow
Date: 22nd - 23rd June
St Merryn Steam Fair and Vintage Rally takes place annually, and was first held in 1980 to raise money for the local church. The rally now continues raising money for local charities and is always well supported by local vintage vehicle exhibitors.
A local rally featuring many rural exhibits including vintage tractors, steam engines and classic cars. There’s also a variety of trade stands and a car boot sale, along with authentic Cornish wrestling, entertainment from local majorette bands and in the evening live music and a disco in the onsite marquee.
